The most sustainable choice
Most of an Apple device's emissions come from making it, not from using it. Buy refurbished and that production process doesn't have to run again. That isn't a marketing claim — it's in Apple's own environmental reports.

What you actually save
For an iPhone 13 it's 64 kg of CO₂, 81% of which comes from production. For an iPad Air 5 it's 80 kg (79% production) and for a MacBook Air M2 it's 147 kg (69% production). Those figures come from the Product Environmental Reports Apple publishes per model; we don't round anything in our favour.
Why a 3-year warranty belongs here
Sustainable means a device lasts a long time, not just that it gets a second owner. That's why we repair rather than replace within the warranty, and why the battery is always at 85% or better — a device you discard after a year because the battery is flat saves nobody anything.
